MY YOGA JOURNEY

Initially, I approached yoga with much apprehension and uncertainty. During my first class, I felt uncomfortable, as if I did not belong. I remember wondering how I could feel so disconnected from a practice that my ancestors created. Insecurity, doubt, and fear stood between yoga and I for years. The antidote for this was to keep showing up. As I continued down this path, my connection to something bigger than me deepened. My yoga mat became my sacred space. As I have flowed and connected with breath and movement, I have learned to look more deeply within myself. I have learned to quiet the noise that serves as a constant distraction. In pursuit of wanting to increase representation and access in the yoga community, I received my 200 RYT from mang'Oh yoga studio in New York City. I bring my practice to you by bringing all of me. I cannot separate my identity as the daughter of immigrant parents nor my role as a social justice advocate when I flow. I hope that you join me as we navigate our journeys together with breath, movement, and intention.
